‘Casa’ is a paper sculpture inhabited by the artist at various sites within San Pablo Etla, Mexico. The performance was a playful gesture of gratitude to the land and community for welcoming me to be present as a temporary inhabitant. Children from the town were invited to paint images of their own home life onto the surface of the sculpture while the artist was inside (see Mi Casita).
